Tulips Journey North
Tulips Journey North is an outreach program designed just for third grade. Our staff will come to your classroom and present an hour long program centered on living and nonliving things with inquiry based and hands-on activities. Using the Intended Learning Outcomes, students will observe new and fascinating things around them.
Fall brings the opportunity for the add-on citizen scientist program, where each student can plant their own tulip bulb in their school garden. The Tulips Journey North Program tracks the arrival of spring by observing growth of student tulips and comparing their results with students across North America. They’ll engage in the scientific process - observing, inquiring, recording, and sharing their results. For more information, visit the Tulips Journey North program website.
Thanks to sponsorship from the Utah State Office of Education’s informal Science Education Enhancement (iSEE), Tulip Journey North is FREE to every public 3rd grade classroom in Utah! While time and travel will not allow Thanksgiving Point to visit every school each year, teachers can expect in-person visits from us every three years. To find your visit year, click HERE.
