Thanksgiving Point Field Trips

Educators, Teachers, Friends!

Welcome! Thanksgiving Point strives to provide educational experiences for students, teachers, and families. We have a variety of programs and field trips, all aligned with the Utah State Science Core Curriculum, Intended Learning Outcomes, Standards, and Objectives to give you and your students a one-of-a-kind experience. Please look through our offerings to find what best fits your needs as an educator. We are happy to answer any questions and we will do our best to accommodate you and your students.

Founded in 1995, Thanksgiving Point is a nonprofit farm, garden, and museum complex dedicated to providing children and families with interactive learning experiences. The organization’s diverse venues provide the community with hands-on learning experiences. Each year, more than 1.9 million guests visit Thanksgiving Point and participate in its core programs. Listed below is a general overview of our Thanksgiving Point field trip offerings. 


Field Trip Offerings: 
  • Explorer: A self-guided tour through a Thanksgiving Point venue.

    • $4 per student.
    • A greeting from a Thanksgiving Point staff member.
    • Starting at 10:00AM and every half hour after.
    • Up to a 3-hour admission to the venue.
  • Explorer Plus: A One-of-a-kind 25-minute classroom activity for each class in addition to what is offered in the Explorer field trip. 

    • $5 per student.
    • Utah Science Core based classroom activity specific to each venue and grade level.
    • Activity facilitated by a Thanksgiving Point staff member that will rotate every 30 minutes for each class.
    • A greeting from a Thanksgiving Point staff member.
    • Available for K-6th grades only.
    • Starting times are 10:00AM and every half hour after.
    • Self-guided tour of the venue.
    • Up to a 3-hour admission to the venue.
  • Career Exploration Experience or CEE: A hands-on experience that gives middle school students insight into a variety of careers.

    • $8 per student
    • Three, 50-minute hands-on experiences that explore various careers. A total of a 3-hour experience
    • Themes: Green Careers, Maker Careers, or Food, Farm, and Fossils. 
    • Offered at 10:00AM
    • For 6th-8th graders
    • Venue admission is not included in the cost. Admission may be purchased separately for $2 per student.
