What is an Education Growing Leader?
Utah State University Extension 4-H/Thanksgiving Point is seeking teens between the ages of 13 and 18 to volunteer as a youth counselor for children’s Summer Day Camps. Day camps are 3 - 5 hours long, depending on the age group, and are held throughout each of Thanksgiving Point’s venues (Museum of Ancient Life, Farm Country, Discovery Gardens, and Thanksgiving Point Gardens as well as at the Emporium Kitchen.)
Why Become a Growing Leader?
Because it's fun! Volunteering is helpful when applying for scholarships, putting together a portfolio and building a resume. You will also learn valuable leadership skills as you have a blast working with other Growing Leaders, staff, and kids. You will also get rewarded with our Life Skill Incentives as you complete the required volunteer hours.
What Does a Growing Leader Do?
As a Growing Leader you will be working with many features of summer day camps including assisting children with projects, teaching activities, answering questions, playing games,
supervising, and helping with clean up and set up.
