Dia de los Muertos, or in English, the Day of the Dead, is a much loved holiday celebrated throughout Latin America and in communities around the world. During Day of the Dead people celebrate by remembering and honoring their loved ones who have departed.

Far from a morbid occasion, this holiday is filled with all the colors, foods, music, and festivities that Latin culture is known for. It is a time of happiness and joy. It is believed that on this day the spirits of the dead are allowed to visit their families.

To welcome loved ones back to this world people build brightly decorated alters upon which they leave offerings (ofrendas) that might include flowers, photos, favorite foods, and treasured mementos.

Our Day of the Dead celebration will give attendees a taste of this culturally rich holiday. Come and listen to music, hear stories, do crafts, watch traditional folk dancers twirl, eat yummy food, and experience the unique sights and sounds of Dia de los Muertos.
